Always grateful when these beautiful trees survive another storm! The leaves are a wonderful ground cover as long as they are dry, and go on the leaf mould pile later for feeding other plants, flowers and vegetables. We ended our season with a fabulously quirky and personal wedding for Ruthie and Max. The families (especially the bride’s father!) worked so hard to create the perfect day for them with so many wonderful different touches, from the bus stop sign, to the colourfully painted piano, rugs, arches, the backdrop, and the garden games. With the stretch tent from Stretch Tents up, and loads of umbrellas on standby, of course it didn’t rain! But it made a great spot for the ceremony. The gorgeous flowers by @alessiabloomstudio on the arches and arrangements and bouquets brought the best of autumn colour to the barn. The amazingly stunning cake was made by a good friend (and guest!) @blixtbakery , what a stunner! Drinks were served from the brilliant @thegiddybox , and delicious food by our lovely friends at @spittingpig and then it was welcome back to @thejustadamband to dance the night away!We wish Ruthie and Max all the very best for the future, along with Raymond the dachshund (seen in miniature on the cake looking like he’s already dug in!!) in their new home. #breckenhill#breckenhillweddings #breckenhillbarn #quirkyweddings#diywedding #outdoorceremony #horseboxbar #weddinginspiration

It’s already three days since our wonderful musi

It’s already three days since our wonderful music festival @under.the.drum and we’re still buzzing! There was so much to enjoy, poetry from @seamusheaneycentre , drumming with @communitytribaldrummers , making silver pendants with @clairemooneysilver , falconry with @hawk_walks_n.i , along with all the amazing bands and solo artists. The campsite was full, and the weather mainly played along. Standing in our field in the dark, looking out over Tildarg dam and down to Cave Hill in the distance, listening to @joshuaburnside was one of the best moments of our lives! We loved meeting the campers the next morning for breakfast, and hearing their very positive feedback. To everyone who came along and supported the festival, and believed in us and our project, thank you. #underthedrum #underthedrumfestival #breckenhill #musicfestival #breckfest

One week already! The lovely Emma and Simon got married on the hottest Saturday this year, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, performed by @ni_wedding_celebrant , and music by the fabulous @ben.traill Luckily there was ice cream waiting, from @_graceful_goodies_ , and a delicious cup of coffee and a traybake from @pablos.espressobar The main meal was cooked up on the barbecue by Cracky’s BBQ Choo Choo, and cake to follow - isn’t this gorgeous pressed flower cake by @thebusywhiskbakery just amazing!#breckenhill#breckenhillweddings #breckenhillbarn#barnweddings #outdoorceremony #coantrimweddingvenue #northernirishweddings #diyweddings

The sun came out in time for Hannah and Ryan’s beautiful ceremony on Thursday, on the front lawn at Breckenhill. The ceremony was performed by Steven Ames @ni_wedding_celebrant and music by Dara Burns, a fabulous harpist. The stunning flower installations are created by our favourite Matt from @bloom_barn It was great to see @ursulamccollam back here, taking the photos! Archery was a big hit (!!) as ever with the guests. The food was from @spittingpig and excellent as always. Ryan and Rebecca are one of the most relaxed and calm couples we have had the pleasure of working with! Along with a wonderful team of family and friends, and a mix of theirs and our decor, they put together a delightful day full of fun and joy. A ceremony on the front lawn (easy to run back to the barn in case of rain!), with celebrant @avrilh_lifecelebrant (a year tomorrow since her last visit!) was followed by a Prosecco reception in the courtyard served up by one of our favourite suppliers, @fizzmatters @thequirkycamperbooth and archery by ourselves kept the guests entertained until dinner time, where an entire lamb on the spit was the centrepiece! Delicious as ever, @challasroast ! We loved meeting @thejustadamband who played during the reception and then the full band and DJ had the dance floor full all night. The clouds were looking threatening, but the ceremony location was perfect for Teresa and Rory last Saturday. Overlooking the lake, and our field of beautiful grasses, buttercups and young trees, it is also a wonderful spot for photography. With music by the wonderful @ionianstringquartet and the ceremony conducted by @gemmahutton_humanist_celebrant , both on their first visit here, it was a beautiful and moving occasion. Tracy and Tracey did things their way, and it was definitely the best way! Such a fun and fabulous day, we really wanted to be guests! Great to see @thequirkycamperbooth and @sarahtopley_artist. @bbqpartychef did a fabulous job with the food, and loved working with them. We don’t have info for the cake ladies but it was amazing, this is a properly “naked cake”! Tracey made all the wooden decorations, including the shot stand, signage and boxes for table decor, and the high point of the evening was Tracey on the decks! What a DJ! Apologies for previous post - dropped my phone while uploading! Don’t know what happened!Charles and Paige had a fabulous day on Saturday. They introduced us to quite a few new (to us!) suppliers, all amazing. The couple’s two beautiful, very well behaved dogs, the greyhounds Basil and Thyme, were being looked after by @social_paws_ni The lovely celebrant Danielle @tietheknotni Barnes was making her first visit (see you again soon hopefully!) as was the wonderful @amyharpistandsinger who played and sang for the ceremony and reception, while @sarahtopley_artist drew pictures of the guests! The delicious vegan meal was made by @truffleupagusveganyums and the cake by @lilypinkbakery And check out the beautiful bouquet of cupcakes - not sure who to credit for those! Our favourite florist Matt @bloom_barn did all the gorgeous flowers and table candles. Festival themed wedding celebration, what’s not to love?! ❤️ Michael and Dawn had a vision, and they really pulled it off! The weather was on their side, the sun came out, and the guests dressed up accordingly! We love how each wedding is so different, with couples bringing their own unique style to their big day. This one used all the outdoor spaces beautifully, and about 40 guests spent the night in the camping area.
