Evening light just before leaf unfurling. I love t Evening light just before leaf unfurling. I love the starkness of the branches, gilded with the last rays of sunshine. The stump of an ancient branch on the right hand side of the big beech tree has been occupied by a pair of jackdaws, who are making quite a mess of nest building, but we love them!
Meet Charlie the Harris Hawk! @hawk_walks_n.i are Meet Charlie the Harris Hawk! @hawk_walks_n.i are now offering walks and experiences here at Breckenhill, starting from the 23rd April, subject to availability. Charlie loved his first walk here which ended in an unplanned and unsuccessful rabbit hunt! This is a wonderful experience for small groups of adults and children, in our beautiful surroundings. There’s the option to do some other activities, or have a picnic or refreshments with the birds!

We were thrilled to be asked to lay on some activi We were thrilled to be asked to lay on some activities for a photo shoot here last Tuesday for @tourism.ni and @anborough Thanks to the gorgeous models and the amazing @jilljphoto who really got down and dirty in the cause of great photos! Especially thanks to Ellen from the Council who organised all our COVID tests and made it all happen! Can’t wait to see the results.
A beautiful set up for a small ceremony for 25 in A beautiful set up for a small ceremony for 25 in our upstairs room in the Stone Barn yesterday. Booked at very short notice, we were delighted to be able to offer our decor, with just the lanterns provided by the couple. And the flowers from our garden by yours truly! Congratulations Sam and Gina!
I’ve been playing around with the ceremony set-u I’ve been playing around with the ceremony set-up in our stone walled reception room. Fairy lights, the flower circle, with or without the drapes, the pallets and wood slices etc are very flexible, and couples are very welcome to use any or all of it! Watch out for a new set up this weekend, in the upstairs room.

We should all value our water more whether it’s for drinking or for leisure, and spend more time enjoying it. And keep it clean! Our little pond is full of life, and perfect for children to kayak safely, or for raft building. #worldwaterday
