Relaxed spring wedding party

We had a fantastic wedding at Breckenhill. Henrietta and David were easy to communicate with and very accommodating of us. Breckenhill was the perfect venue for us, it has gorgeous scenery and it is private and relaxed. We had roughly 80 guests at our wedding and the spaces worked perfectly; with a cosy ceremony but lots of space to relax, socialise and dance. I would definitely recommend Breckenhill if you’re looking to do things a little differently on your wedding day!

Teresa and I had our wedding at Breckenhill in July, 2024. We had the most amazing day and experience and are so grateful to Henrietta and David for sharing their gorgeous venue with us.

From the forestry to the rewilding, scenic views and beautiful converted barn Breckenhill is spectacular. They also allowed us to tailor every aspect of the day from décor, to where we had our ceremony, food/catering and drinks/alcohol. They also gave us unfettered access to the venue in the days before and after the wedding.

We chose – and recommend – Breckenhill for several reasons:

1) They are dog friendly.
2) It is such a beautiful venue ideally located in the middle of nowhere but still in close proximity to Belfast and the main airports. There were lovely options for the ceremony (we chose overlooking a lovely lake), beautiful photo opportunities and a really nice indoors hall if the wet weather plan was required. We had the meal and party in a converted barn that was suitably informal for us.
3) Henrietta and David are exceptional at what they do and immediately made us feel calm, and they helped us through every step. We didn’t want anything too formal or fast-paced and this place suited us to the core. While lots of venues have a relentless calendars these days, Henrietta and David choose to space theirs out and gave us two full days to set up, offered us all items they had in storage (from décor items to games, different table and chair designs etc) and were in no hurry for us to piss off the morning after so we could really let our hair down on the day.
4) Their business model is such where they provide the venue but we were able to source our own catering and beverage suppliers. This allowed us to bring in Castaway Catering (Roger and Craig are amazing – highly recommend!) who created a bespoke menu that suited our – very particular – culinary tastes. We were also able to supply the bar at cost price, which was delivered by hospitality professionals that Breckenhill recommend / provide.
5) Teresa didn’t allow it, but they offer archery!!!

You were so warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, your attention to detail is second to none, we forgot batteries for our heart and I got my mum to bring them and when we arrived you already had the batteries in it, I was very touched.

Our guests loved the venue and how beautiful it was, the kids and adults loved the go-karts and the kids were so excited telling us they fed the chickens.
