There are two entrances to Breckenhill, one on the Tildarg Road, through our newly-restored stone pillars, with black-painted gates, down a tree-lined drive. Alternatively, use the Breckenhill Road entrance (also used for Tildarg Fishery).
FROM BELFAST VIA DOAGH: (using Breckenhill Road entrance)
- Travel up M2 and come off at Junction 5 – signposted “Templepatrick and Ballyclare”
- T-Junction – Turn right – signposted “Ballyclare”
- At roundabout – turn left – signposted “Doagh B59”
- Go straight through Doagh and continue past The Mill development on your left. There is a sharp bend in the road to the right (with a road off to the left) – keep right.
- Go through the national speed limit signs and pass hockey club on left
- Take the next road on the left – signposted “Burnside” (Bridge Road)
- From this junction, drive 2.7 miles, going straight through Burnside village and continuing on the same road and on through crossroads (junction with Orpinsmill and Drumadarragh Roads). There is a sign to indicate you are entering Breckenhill Road.
- After the 2.7 miles Tildarg Road South will fork off on your right, continue straight on, the road then bending to the left and uphill.
- Drive for a further 1.2 miles (going past pylons, the road narrows)
- Breckenhill is on the right hand side, gate posts just on a sharp left hand bend. Sign at gates for Breckenhill and Millfield Stoves, also one for Tildarg Fly Fishery.
- Proceed through gates and turn left again at the entrance through stone wall.
FROM BALLYMENA: (Passing Ross Park Hotel, and using Breckenhill Road entrance)
- From Larne Road roundabout at southern end of M2, take Larne Road.(A36)
- Go 1.8 miles and take right turn to Doagh on B59 (Tully Road).
- Go 4 miles, passing Ross Park Hotel on left, and take left turn on right-hand bend in road, signposted “Tildarg 4 miles” (right is for Kells and Connor).
- Go 3.1 miles, passing windmills on left and slow down when you see Newtownabbey Borough Council sign.
- Just after the sign, take road to right, Breckenhill Road, also signed for Tildarg Fly Fishery.
- Go 0.3 miles until you see gateway in front of you, on right-hand bend in road, with sign at gate for Breckenhill, and Tildarg Fly Fishery.
- Proceed through gate and turn left through stone wall 50 yards inside gates.
FROM BALLYMENA: (Via Moorfields and Collin Road) (Tildarg Road entrance)
- From Larne Road roundabout take Larne Road (A36)
- Pass through Moorfields village after 4 miles
- Continue a further 2 miles to Battery Inn on left, and turn right to Ballyclare on the Collin Road (B94)
- After 3.6 miles take right turn for Kells (B98) and Doagh, also signed for Tildarg Fly Fishery
- Turn immediately right again onto Tildarg Road, signposted Kells.
- Go 0.9 miles, and the entrance to Breckenhill is on the left. Stone pillars and black-painted gates, entering a drive through mature beech trees
- Turn right into yard at stone wall
FROM BALLYCLARE: (using Tildarg Road entrance)
- From square in centre of town, take Rashee Road from top of square, signed for Ballymena and Broughshane (B94).
- Proceed up hill passing Ballyclare High School on left and out of the town.
- Pass Five Corners Inn on left at top of hill (1.5 miles from square), keeping straight on, on the Collin Road.
- After further 1.7 miles, turn left, signposted Kells (B98) and Doagh, also Tildarg Fly Fishery.
- Go immediately right onto Tildarg Road (signposted Kells 7 miles, B98) keeping row of 3 new houses on left, followed by Tildarg Primary School.
- Go 0.9 miles, and the entrance to Breckenhill is on the left. Stone pillars and black-painted gates, entering a drive through mature beech trees
- Turn right into yard at stone wall
