June brought us 1,100 school children, from 15 different schools, plus Saturday groups from youth organisations, and birthday parties. We also had a retirement party, a local health centre team building evening, and a beautiful wedding to kick the month off! Another great day with our lovely friends from @me Another great day with our lovely friends from @metalforlifeni Despite the downpour, plenty got done, this time for our bird population! The dozen or so new nesting boxes will provide shelter and safety for the chicks. We love the decor - let’s hope the birds are metal fans too!! They’ll definitely love the pine cone treats, stuffed with suet and seeds. We were all well fuelled with yummy crepes made on Ahti and Gillian’s griddle, the chefs deserve medals for staying outside to cook them! Steve at @lackancottagefarm guided us through the stages and requirements, and what a satisfying task to see through from start to (nearly!) finish! Just a roof to go on and water to link to the sink. First night in a tent for us for nearly 40 years, but I could do that again! It was a delight to welcome Rebecca and JP and the It was a delight to welcome Rebecca and JP and their guests and dogs last Saturday! After two postponements, the day that should have happened two years ago finally arrived, and it was well worth the wait! The sun shone down and everything looked just beautiful. We loved that Lilly the couple’s beautiful golden retriever, got pride of place on the bench set out for JP ‘s granny (zoom in on ceremony photo!). The Wiccan ceremony led by @n.i.survival ‘s Paul was very moving and a first for us. And as ever the lovely Conor from @sizzlenbbq cooked up a storm - delicious barbecue food. Finally, we were so pleased to welcome back the brilliant McStocker Ceilidh band who kept the floor filled.
